I’ve started publishing progress updates to Patreon! The first one is here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/pellet-progress-59906064. It’s been a long-time goal of mine to build up a few channels for people to support my open-source work, and I’ve personally enjoyed the exclusive progress updates from other people that I support.
Ideally I might be able to make a supporters-only section on this blog, so I can also publish the posts here as well. Patreon’s text editor leaves a lot to be desired, and I have to transcribe the posts that I write in Ulysses1, and can’t yet include things like code blocks. I spent a lot of time making sure the reading experience was nice on this blog so I’d really like those posts to look nice as well. This is more complicated than it sounds, because I don’t want to give up the “static” nature of the website either, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out.
The plan is to publish these updates, for supporters, once every month or two depending on how much time I can dedicate to it. The blog posts on this website will be longer-form, and focus on topics like API design or how to solve a specific technical problem.
